Dr. Shuman, who received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Howard University and completed a one-year general practice residency at Peninsula General Hospital in New York, not only educates other dentists but advances his own knowledge of dentistry with 100 continuing education hours annually. A Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, he has completed over 1,200 hours of rigorous study and preparation, and has been recognized by his peers as a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Since 2005, he has been voted one of The Top 100 Clinicians in Continuing Dental Education in North America by Dentistry Today. In private practice since 1992, Dr. Shuman says, “My greatest joys in life are my wife, Alisa, and our four children". When he is not in the office he can be found playing paintball or fishing with his sons. Dr. Shuman is also a supporter of the Special Olympics and a sponsor of the Annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge. |
